K is for.....

Good Evening Mrs. Matlock...I am here once again for Alphabe Thursday to celebrate and acknowledge the letter K'. In order to make up for last weeks offering of the odoriferous jack fruit, tonight I have for you kiwi fruit as a peace offering..I hope you will enjoy this little bit of Kindness on my part....

K is for the "Kite Runner"...I have said many times that I am a huge reader on my blog. Always have been and it is one of my biggest joys in life. Escaping into a book I can travel anywhere, be anything and live someone else's story....I read the Kite runner about two years ago and it became a favorite book...I believe that it is a modern classic and if you haven't read it, you should...It covers the spectrum of human emotions from jealousy to shame, ugliness to beauty and ultimately, love and redemption...Through the story, you also experience life in a different culture and country......There is also a movie, but for me, I always enjoy the book more....If you have read it, let me know what you thought...If you haven't, you should read it...It is a real page turner...Just have these handy.

It has a very beautiful and poignant ending and I went thru a whole box of Kleenex...Now I am off to go read on my Kindle.

The Kite Runner has been out for about 3 years I think. I put it on my Christmas list a couple of years ago and got the Audio book. It's a wonderful book. Aside from all the emotions you go through, it gives you quite an insight into the Taliban. I highly recommend this book.

Never heard of it, but I read very little grownup fiction - I love children's fiction - but the next time I do I will have to look for this book.

Happy K day!

Just seeing that title made me want to get some kleenex.

What a wonderfully well written and moving book.

Thanks for gracing us with a kiwi...with that lovely fresh strawberry-ish scent so opposite of jackfruit!

I enjoyed my K stop on your blog!

A+

I've not read this yet, and I don't know why. I too am a huge reader, and somehow this just stayed off of my radar. Thanks for the reminder. And yes, Sax is definitely the queen! Happy Easter to you. Kathy

I haven't read it. But have had it recommended several times. It sounds really good. I like hearing about books, even those that require Kleenex. Great post. Your new blog background is so pretty!

Excellent book, I haven't seen the movie yet but I agree with you they are rarely as good as the book. another good book about a similar time fame and same culture, meant for young reader is "The Bread Winner."
