Ok, I am not SUPERMOM!

I am going to be honest. The kids are driving me nuts tonight and I mean nuts....Andrew has a cough and a runny nose again and is crabby and whiny and Liv, is just being an annoying six year old. Sometimes I want to go make something so bad and it is just down right impossible! There they are whining and wanting to help and just being kids..So is it that I have no patience today or is it them? It is me...I am on overload and not getting out of the house enough. My oldest daughter is going to school and working so she hasnt been around to help out and I guess I got used to it. I called her and begged her to take the little troll tomorrow for a couple of hours...Even just to take a walk is a big event here lately....So now that I have shattered the image of the perfect grandmother....I did make an altered book spread for Barb .b. Her theme is vintage with dolls....I layered this one up big time. She also wanted sepia so I tried to really keep it in that color spectrum...[It took me all day because of the aforementioned kid issue...] I also am showing a picture of a 3x3 made for Sanna that has grown on me...I usually dont work in blues, but I like the softness of this piece. So I guess now, with Andrew on my heels, I will go clean up the paint, paper, brushes and assorted rips and tears from the kids helping...Bless their little hearts...I love them so much!

Melinda - your art is stunning, as always. I couldn't have made this piece in one day even without 'helpers'!! You are being really harsh on yourself, you're probably not fully over those miserable germs yet. Take care :)

Melinda - your work is awesome! I love these!!!! I agree with Helen, you're being a little hard on yourself. We all need a break sometimes. Besides, you should hear what I say under my breath about my teenagers! LOL! :O Marva

Melinda, big hugz for you. Sounds like you could use one. I know exactly how you feel about whiny 6 year olds although mine are grandkids so I can eventually send them home. I had 2 of them over this week home sick from school. One was whiny, the other did crafts with me, lol. Just got a book 365 afterschool activities for 7 to 12 year olds and one for preschoolers I am definitely going to dig out the next time the whiner comes over, lol. I'm not a bad granny, just don't like whiners. But he has a tendency to whine, sick or not. Have to keep him busy constantly. New project every 20 minutes.
I love your button art you posted.I used to love playing dolls and buttons. Mom had great buttons. And your itty bitty for Sanna is so sweet. Where are you finding all those measuring tape pieces? I only have the one I use all the time. It's ancient and would make a great addition ot my art but I have been using it since I started sewing when I was a kid and just can't bear to cut it up, lol. Thanks for sharing your art with us. I always love seeing your art. Hope today is brighter for you sweetie. Hugz, Scary
