necklace, banner, and a friends giveaway...

I actually am a member of a Yahoo Group called Fiber Art Traders...I haven't participated in quite a long time, even though I have wanted to. There was a swap going on for house book necklaces..I decided to play..The idea is you use an actual book cover for the front and back and then they house the little pages...I used the cover of a romance novel by Jude Deveraux and went with a love gone wrong theme...I really enjoyed working in this little tiny format...the cover and back are 1.5 inches...I still have one more to make...I made a photo collage so it combined all of the pictures and if you click on it, you can see more detail...I also am showing a picture of the art banner that I got in return from a swap. I love all the colors and cant wait to hang it up! I also wanted to mention that one of my blogger friends, Tonya May over at http://tonyassewingroom.blogspot.com is having a 100th post giveaway and it is awesome....lots of fat quarters and sewing goodies....go see and leave her a comment...She is a great quilter and a good friend even though we have only known each other a short time! I also joined another apron swap...I know, I know, I am hooked....It is Hot Mama's Mama Mia swap inspired by the movie...I have some ideas and my secret partners wishes...We will see what I come up with. Val at http://yarnigras.blogspot.com is hosting.....It should be fun and give me something to keep my mind and hands busy..Thank you for all your support and encouragement everyone...It is so appreciated!!!

Hi Melinda,

I LOVE THAT ART BANNER! :)
Love everything about it especially the colors. :)
I posted a picture of my mini house book too on Fiber Art Traders. So happy you are doing the swap too. Your little house book is lovely!

I am so sorry you have such a difficult situation going on.:(
But I think you are doing the correct thing by not letting your daughter take them with her and keeping them safe from harm. I will keep you and the kids in my prayers so that everything works out in your favor.

I just noticed you don't have my blog linked to your's. :(
Can you add my blog to your list and I will do the same?

Hugs!

Beautiful as always!! I'm excited about the Mama Mia Swap too. I hadn't seen the movie until a couple of weeks ago and I love all of the colors and fabrics they used in the scenery. I just bought some really pretty fabric the other day.......now to actually sew the apron!

Have a great day Melinda!
Earl was asking about you too. He sends his well wishes to you!
