Vintage holiday swap and a green bug....

Ok, first the bug....
Olivia came over the other afternoon and she looked funny...Grandpa asked her what was wrong and she said her ear hurt...All of a sudden she just started shrieking and crying...Screaming bloody murder that her ear hurt...her mom rushed her to the Dr and she had a green bug in her ear that was biting her ear drum....Is that the sickest thing ever? I about ralphed when I heard it. I have always been terrified of earwigs...I kept saying to Lisa, it wasnt an earwig was it? Thank gosh she took her Because I think that would've been my maga limit. I probably wouldve passed out...But now, all is well except I have a green bug phobia on top of the earwig and dog poop phobia....
I played in Jenny from Everydays a Holiday swap and I know my partner has her package now so I thought I would show it....You had to make something and inlude a couple of little vintage vacation souveniers.....I showed a peek of this beach bag I made...Here is the whole thing.

I used vintage hankies and part of a vintage pillowcase along with old laces and trims...the mermaid and the seashells are free motioned embroidered....
I also include a pair of turquoise, shell encrusted salt and pepper shakers, a movie screen magazine, the wax encrusted beach bottle I made and a 'Relax" banner I made to match the beach bag....

Happy Summer.....

OK, my ear is all creeped out and itchy now.

Will you please make some of these things to sell.

It will keep you in bug repellant.

I think I would have been screaming bloody murder even if the bug wasn't in my ear! Yuck. What a fun looking bag.

Wow! You really are talented with fabric - these bags (LOVE the red one below too!) are just fabulous! I love how much care went into them, and I'm sure the recipient will love all the extra goodies!
AND yes, that is sooo creepy! I am so sorry to hear about your granddaughter's ear - that must have been a scary moment for you all! I would not have been calm either!

I would say your swap partner got a lovely exchange from you. Both the bag and the banner are superb. And to have included the lovely decorated bottle, salt and pepper shakers, and the vintage magazine were awesome. Lovely assortment with a definite summer feel.

I can't possibly imagine how a bug got that far into Olivia's ear. It must have been a mighty small bug. Sounds icky to me, and I would not have enjoyed dealing with it, either.

goodness gracious the bug in the ear thing is the nastiest thing I've heard in a while, hope the little Chickadee is felling better. Cute bag.
