A New Art group and Mail........

First of all, I joined another group...I know, I know, just what I need, but I really do need it! It is called "The Artistic Mothers Group" and it is based on the book...Trudy is the host and you can get more info at her blog....

www.artisticcreationswithtrudy.blogspot.com

There is no deadline really, you just need a book and we will be going thru guided projects. It is based on the premise that when you have children, it is so hard to make time for things like art...It also is good to get that inspiration flowing and share what you are doing with a whole new group of people. I feel like I qualify for the "mom" title, since I am babysitting four kids full time, including two BABIES...GO CHECK IT OUT....I would love to see some familiar faces there.....
HOLY COW, did I get the mail yesterday.....3 lovely pieces of mail, one of them a box from Australia...It was my Enchanted Ornament package from Natalie....http://eissua.blogspot.com The theme was fairies and she hand sewed and embroidered these sweet ornaments and made a little fairy...you can see her peeking out so sweet.....

She also sent me some teas..( I love tea) and some pretty papers to play with...Thanks so much Natalie!
Then from Vickie, and OWOH win.....this lovely print of one of her paintings...I am going to mat and frame it and hang it in my art room! http://whisperofinspiration.blogspot.com

I also got this lovely necklace from Michaela in Austria...another OWOH prize....she included the cutest tag so I had to show it too...You can find her at http://wienermaedl-art.blogspot.com/
I am going to wear the necklace today...so pretty and different....

Last week about killed me....I was exhausted by yesterday chasing these babies around...ok, I feel my age... but I am thinking I will get used to it again....I slept so hard last night I could hear myself snore...that is sick, really sick. But it felt good too...I wonder if I drooled? I bet I did. oh well...it happens to the best of us. I did manage to got to a thrift store and get these two old suitcases to alter and this sweet little sewing machine...the darn thing works! can you believe it?

I got them all for ten dollars! The case on top is a door to door sales mans watch case with the advertisements in it....A long time ago I did a vanity case and I loved it so much...I gave it away and have had my eye out for more...here is the case altered though I leave the insides as is....

I also got the quilt I showed a few days ago quilted and it is ready to bind....I started a paperback page wreath too and it is about 3/4 done....maybe tomorrow both will be completed...Tonight is date night and we are going to a dueling piano bar...I feel like Mr margarita and I need some quality time...(the drink, not Don..heehee) Today is little Trace's first birthday so we are headed there first...He is such a little sweetheart..I am really getting attached to him...I love babies anyway..Happy Saturday Everyone......Melinda

Hi Melinda! I'm going to check out the blog, it sounds fantastic! You're so busy, yet you find time for creative outlets and I think that's great! I have been looking for a sitting job, as a former foster mom I miss being around kids!

maybe you are not 100% yet from the virus you had, sometimes it takes a while to get back to normal, whatever that is! id be knackered too looking after 4 kids full time.
In answer to your question no i dont have any of my nanas caps , such a shame but i dont think she kept any or i would have snavelled one up when we went thru her things.. I didnt find out about her milinery until not long before she died. We did find a foot long plait of my great grandmothers beutiful rich red blkack hair. Bit gross really but i liked it!!

Thanks so much for the shout out. I was wondering if you could fix the link to my blog. It is www.artisticcreationswithtrudy.blogspot.com, not mothers. Thanks so much.

What a bunch of fun stuff you got in the mail, love it all! The little sewing machine is too cute! Is that a new "me" picture? Get some rest, you have earned it!

Hi Melinda

Wow! As always, you are just a little busy bee! Can't wait to see what projects you do from the book. I know better than to even look inside because I will want it and I really need to be concentrating on other things just now.

Great treasures you pick up, as well. Love the green sewing machine!

Hope you got your quality time with Mr. Margarita last night! I know I did!

Hugs,
Tamerie

Girl, girl, girl...love that little green sewing machine! Love all your prizes. Can't wait to see your wreath. That dog blinking at me is making me laugh. What a silly thing.

Oh geez, now he is wiggling his nose, too.

Really cute!

Great finds!
