I is for Insomnia.....

Good Morning Mrs. Matlock...I am here on time this morning..It Is really Incredible, Isnt it? Once again I have no apples to bring you so Instead here is an Illawara plum.....
So here goes, I is for Insomia and I have it bad.....A few people have left comments on my blog and ask how I get so much done...Especially since having the kids full time...Well, here is the answer...I don't sleep!!!! maybe four hours in a 24 hour time span if I am lucky...I have had bouts off and on for years and it runs in my family...This latest streak has been going on for about three months...it gets old fast too...I finally quit even trying and just stay up all night. I usually sleep between 5 a.m and 7:30 a.m when the kids come...it has led to some severe undereye circles....

I don't drink this,

I take this....

I even count iguanas....(sheep doesnt start with an I')....
I think if I could shut this darn thing off.....

Then I could find a comfy bed and sleep just like this.....

and that would be really Incredible......

Good job on the "I"s! My DH has the same problem you do--plus his wife snores( or as my Sis says--purrs!!)

I hate insomnia. I have some but I got some medication. Some times it helps some times not so much. Maybe with the weather change you will be able to sleep better. Good luck.

I'm sorry you are struggling with insomnia. I struggle with in somewhat. I can't get my mind to stop thinking because there is so much going on. I need to learn to stop and fit relaxation into my schedule before bed.

Good lord girl, how do you keep going with 4 hours sleep? I feel bad and had no idea you suffered from insomnia. I get it every now and again but not for long. I wish you a complete nights sleep. Your post was great.

I can sympathise with the insomnia I get bouts too. I'm just coming out of one now, but unfortunately I tend to go the opposite way straight after and want to sleep ALL the time for a couple of weeks. My body just doesn't seem to like balance these days, sigh!

I feel your pain - I've had bouts of insomnia. It's the worst, when you wake up and your body just won't let you rest any more! I hope this ends soon...

It's hard to function when the gas tank is down near "E". I hope this 3 month bout of insomnia comes to a quick end. Truly.

Oh, gosh...you are in danger of having some serious sleep deprivation catch up with you at some point. You really can't go on like that indefinitely...it's not healthy at all. *sigh* I hope it improves for you soon.

I always have trouble sleeping if I take a nap in the afternoon, but sometimes I'm so tired and just doze off. Then I'm up until the wee hours. I think I was actually meant to stay up late and sleep late in the morning, but real life gets in the way. :)

I can't imagine going on only four hours sleep. Take care.

I'm sorry about the insomnia.

Have you had your progesterone levels checked? If they are low it causes bad insomnia...I know this to be true.

But also...if they are normal and the estrogen ratio is off (as in estrogen dominance) it will also cause this.

Good post and a great chance for me to show off my non-medical degree!

A+

I started having problems with insomnia with the onset of "mental pause" as my grandmother used to call it. It comes and goes, right now I'm sleeping pretty well for which I'm thankful. And after reading Jenny's comment, I think we should start calling her Professor Matlock :) Kathy

Please go to a sleep center to see why you don't sleep! My hormone levels were off and I got this great cream and now I sleep well, just have trouble falling to sleep. I think we think about too much stuff at night. I agree, how do you turn off your mind???

that can't be a real dog in the bun...how cute...you're not eating chocolate before bed are you?...I recently did an in-home physical on a woman who said she couldn't sleep and I said to her....your not eating those before bed are you? (I pointed to the pile of hersey kisses on her coffee table...what do you think that she said? but of course....most people don't even realize it has caffeine. Hope you get some sleep.

As I have gotten older, I have become more of an insomniac...waking up at 3 or 4 and not going back to bed...but, of course, I am not using that time productively...I am just trying to get back to bed. GRRR!! I can totally relate! Joni

I'm not much of a sleeper...maybe 4 - 5 hours/night. I've always been an early riser as well...I think it comes from 45 years of being a nurse and, often, having to be at work at 7AM. I am not one to lie in bed if I can't sleep...I'll get up and find something to do!

I wish you could get some sleep. Four hours a night isn't enough, but a great post though. Love that little cute puppy on the bun!

Good Morning,

Thank goodness, INSOMNIA is one thing that I've never had!!

I do hope you can get some good sleep soon! Have a great weekend.

Your images and ideas are so funny (I especially like counting iguanas)... but insomnia is not. There are few things as mentally frustrating or physically taxing as consistently not being able to sleep. I appreciate your humor and productivity in the midst of it.... And do hope that some rest will come.

Sorry I am so late on my response. I loved your I's. The last picture made me smile so much. Thanks for taking the time to stop by. Have a wonderful weekend.

...I am catching up finally...(story of my blogging life!)

sorry about your insomnia, but you are awesome to be so productive with your hours of "wakefulness"! I love your quilt too! And wow! your newspaper dress is looking lovely...I really like the color (like madras plaid) and the style and form... how fun!

Blessings & Aloha!
(our son & buddies left yesterday to drive back to college...so trying to catch up before the work week starts...)

I'm sorry for your insomnia -- my hubby suffers from it,also. Which means I suffer from it. For him, he finally gets sooooo tired that he will sleep for 16 hours at a time for a couple of days. He has a hard time shutting off the brain, too....
