Heaven Help us , H for Hair.....

Happy Alphabe Thursday Miss Matlock....I am Happy to be Here, but was Horrified to find H is a Hard letter to work with....I Had to really think about this one....I couldn't think of a fruit or vegetable to bring you that started with H so Here is a Hosta for your garden....
H is for Hair as in Hairstyles of the past. Have you ever noticed that you can recognize a decade by the hairstyle?

this picture is a great example....A bouffant just screams the 60's.....I still want to get one some day, maybe for a Halloween event and wear a little pillbox Hat on the top ala" Jackie......
Ok here is a test...What decade is this one from?

I know, I know, it like something out of a Horror film....the dreaded Mullet and it is so eighties.....he even has a nice pair of 80's jeans on......
Then there are the Hairstyles that are named after people.....

The Farrah.......How many of us didn't Have Hair like this or try to?

Bo Derek braids....you can go to the Bahamas and get you some of these....(Hey lady I braid your Hair for 2 dollars....it was Hard but I resisted...)

The Rachel....I tried to Have Hair like this and it just didn't work....mine looked more like a Brillo pad on top of my Head....this was before the good straightening irons came out......

And now, we are nearing the present......How about this one?

The Kate.....Now in Utah we have a bigger version of this Hairstyle...It is called "why do I Have a multicolored cockatoo sitting on the back of my Head" Texas Has nothing on us with their big Hair.....
And last of all fellow student body and Miss Matlock, I would like to introduce a new Hairstyle..........

The Melinda....Happy Alphabe Thursday!

Oh, I have so been wanting to do a post on "Hair." I have about as many photos of hair as I have of hats.

Wow! not seen a mullet like this one before. But, I captured a shot of a guy with a braid to his waist.

Thanks for the visit and the sweet comment. So happy you have a hat wearing guy in your life. Aren't they sexy?

And all day I thought it was Wednesday until Project Runway came on. And, I'm having big bad hair days, so your topic was very pertinent.

Good Morning Melinda,

This is funny, at one time or the other, I've had all those hairstyles, including the last one which I have this morning...LOL

I am having so much fun participating in this Alphabe-Thurs meme. It really challenges us sometimes and it is fun to read what other people share.

Have a great weekend!

Oh my gosh! I typed a really good comment and then thought, "This should really be a blog post", so I'm saving it! Thanks for the inspiration!!!

Suffice it to say, I totally get what you're saying here.....

Cute post!! You didn't mention the long straight with just a tiny bit of hair on either side of the part, or better yet, the tiny braid going back into a leather something! The very "hippy" look!! That was my fav! Can you say low maintanance? Even today, when I get a cut, instructions begin with "leave it long enough for a pony tail..." Enjoyed reading this a.m.....thanks!

Wow, that was some mullet! Holy cow. And I know what you mean about straightening the hair-- try living in a humid climate! I may have to try that last style....

Thanks Melinda for the good laugh as I read this post! I had a Jennifer cut and I think my hair has always had some veriation of it ever since. I guess I will just get stuck in the eighties! But I also adore Audrey's hairdoo too, but then again I just adore Audrey. period!
Blessings my friend!

This was a fun post! My hair was very fashionable when I was young - stick straight and parted in the middle, all the way down past my fanny. All of my friends were busy ironing their hair and I just had to brush mine. Then that darned Farrah came along.... Kathy

Hair-larious. Okay that was horrid, I admit. And am secretly jealous of all that good, thick, big hair. I love it when you stop by and so enjoy visiting back.

Your hair does not look like that! But you made me laugh!

Too funny! My hair has thinned over the years and I've been going gray since I was 19, so...I'm sort of over it right now. If it decides to start playing nicely maybe we can make amends.

I love that last picture!

That was a fun post! I truly never want to the "the kate" style again ... that one was just way too .... well nuff said ... love "the melinda" too cute!!!

Jenny said...

What a fun post! However, class... The Melinda is not an original hairstyle.

It is EXACTLY what my hair looks like under my hat!

And now you see why I didn't want you to make fun of my hat.

A+ for a funny H post!

Haha I think I'd be happy with ANY hairstyle if I had enough hair to pull it off (except maybe the Kate hair... really? It's just... wow)! Sadly I was not blessed with bountiful amounts of long lusciously thick hair!
